The 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe, VE Day will be celebrated on Thursday 8th May 2025. This will be a "shared moment of celebration" across the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK overseas territories.
There is a day of commemoration and celebration planned for this day. Events include, proclaimations, bells rung in churches, beacons being lit and theatre shows on the day. You can find details of all the events that are planned at veday80.org.uk.
You can also join in by eating Fish & Chips for your supper on 8th May. Britain’s favourite dish was not rationed by Prime Minister Churchill during the whole of WWII, so use this occasion to continue paying tribute to the brave fishermen who fished the seas and the farmers and land girls who toiled in the fields, by eating of Fish and Chips!
You can celebrate this momentous event with this free printable VE Day 80th Anniversary Colouring Picture.
