The BBC's flagship annual fundraising event Children In Need 2024 was held on Friday 15th November.
The date for the 2025 event has not been announced yet, but when it is you can enjoy an evening of fantastic entertainment while helping to raise money to help children across the UK.
What Is Children In Need?
Children In Need is an fundraising event run by the BBC, to raise money for people in the UK and around the world, to tackle the most pressing issues of the moment.
The very first Children In Need appeal was a radio broadcast on Christmas Day 1927. 1955 saw the first ever televised appeal, and these hour long shows continued on Christmas Day until 1979.
21st November 1980 was the date of the very first Children in Need Telethon which was presented by Terry Wogan. And in 1985 Pudsey Bear became the iconic mascot of the Children in Need appeal.
The BBC’s charity has a mission to help ensure that every child in the UK is safe, happy, secure and has the opportunities they need to reach their potential.
The current fundraising efforts are focused on supporting children and young people affected by a whole range of disadvantages such as poverty, disability, illness, distress or trauma.
