Pride Month is held every June.
LGBT Pride Month, often shortened to Pride Month, is a month, dedicated to celebration and commemoration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Pride.
Pride Month began after the Stonewall riots, which was a series of gay liberation protests in June 1969 held in New York.
In the UK there are a number of Pride Month events held everywhere from big cities to towns and villages.
The rainbow flag has long been the symbol of Pride Month, represented on flags, clothing, badges and used on many products to suggest a link to Pride Month. It consists of six stripes in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.
Over the years other colours have been added to the flag to represent other marginalised groups.
