Each year in the Chinese Calendar is represented by one of 12 different animals. One of these is the Year of the Goat (or Sheep) and it is believed that people born in that year have certain characteristics.
The Chinese years do not run exactly alongside the Western calendar dates. The starting date of the Chinese New Year changes every year and usually begins in late January or early to Mid February.
The Year of the Goat occurred in 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015 and 2027.

The Goat Personality
The Goat (or Sheep) is the eighth Sign of the Chinese Zodiac, and is a Yin Sign associated with the Fire Element. Goats are genuinely nice people, charming, amiable, and sympathetic to the needs of others.
They hate to criticize and always look for the best in people, including themselves.
Sometimes they are too sensitive for the real world; they often misinterpret situations. They can also be very shy, especially in front of those they like. People under this sign can be insecure.
They need to feel loved and protected and are easily drawn into complex predicaments.
This being so, they usually shy away from confrontation, pull back when faced with heavy decision-making, and blatantly refuse to take an unpopular stand in a conflict.
