As the May half term and beyond approaches, you may be trying to think of things to do in the May half term. If you and your kids are movie fans you will all be looking forward to the latest selection of family DVD, Blu-ray and download releases.
As usual there there are lots of DVDs due for release, including the Disney smash hit movie Coco, Aardman Animations' Early Man and the Oscar winning historical drama Darkest Hour.
So let's gather on the sofa and watch some great new movies!

May 14th sees the release of the massively successsful movie musical The Greatest Showman on DVD, Blu-ray and download. Starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya. The movie tells the story of how P. T. Barnum started the Barnum & Bailey Circus and the lives of the circus performers.
If you loved the music, yes, there is a sing-along DVD/Blu-ray available too.

Disney Pixar’s latest release Coco will be out on DVD on 21st May 2018, just in time for a school holiday movie afternoon!
The movie follows the adventures of a 12-year-old boy named Miguel, who finds himself in the Land of the Dead while on a quest to prove his talent as a musician.
His family has banned music for generations, but Miguel is determined to defy them and follow in the footsteps of his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. But when he’s magically transported to the vibrant and colourful Land of the Dead, he sets out to discover the true story of his family’s history.
The movie features the voices of Gael García Bernal, Anthony Gonzalez, Benjamin Bratt and Renée Victor.

The 28th May sees the DVD release of Early Man, the latest animation from Wallace and Grommit creator Nick Park.
Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures roamed the earth, Early Man tells the story of courageous caveman hero Dug and his best friend Hognob as they unite his tribe against a mighty enemy Lord Nooth and his Bronze Age City to save their home.

History buffs will love this true life WWII drama Darkest Hour, in which Winston Churchill must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation.
As the unstoppable Nazi forces roll across Western Europe and the threat of invasion is imminent, and with an unprepared public, a skeptical King, and his own party plotting against him, Churchill must withstand his darkest hour, rally a nation, and attempt to change the course of world history.
Starring Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Lily James, Ben Mendelsohn, Samuel West and Ronald Pickup, it is out on DVD on 4th June 2018.
