There are some fantastic kids and family movies on release this new year and in the lead up to the February Half Term 2020!

If your favourite family TV of the week was a visit to the Yorkshire country estate of the Crawley family, you will be pleased to know that the Downton Abbey (PG) movie is out on DVD on the 27th January 2020.
The film is set in 1927, and features a royal visit to Downton Abbey by King George V and Queen Mary. Naturally it stars all your Downton favourites including Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter, Michelle Dockery, Elizabeth McGovern, Dame Maggie Smith and Penelope Wilton.
Shaun the Sheep's second outing to the big screen is out on DVD on 10th February in Farmageddon (U). Shaun and the flock encounter a cute alien with extraordinary powers, who crash lands near Mossy Bottom Farm. They have to find a way to return her home in order to prevent an alien invasion called Farmageddon.
With the voices of CBeebies legend Justin Fletcher as Shaun along with John Sparkes and Kate Harbour.
The latest animation from Dreamworks is Abominable (U). When teenage Yi encounters a young Yeti on the roof of her apartment building in a modern Chinese city, she and her mischievous friends, Jin and Peng, name him “Everest” and embark on an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth.
Also out on DVD on 10th February, it features the voices of Chloe Bennet, Tenzing Norgay Trainor, Albert Tsai, Eddie Izzard, Sarah Paulson, Tsai Chin and Michelle Wong.
The 17th February sees the release of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (PG), the follow-up to 2014’s Maleficent. When Prince Phillip proposes to Aurora, Phillip's mother, Queen Ingrith of Ulstead secretly plans to use the wedding as part of a plan to divide humans and fairies forever.
Starring Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Warwick Davies, Michelle Pfeiffer and Juno Temple.
