8th March 2009

If you are planning a spring getaway and your family are animal lovers, here is a selection of family-friendly farms where little ones can enjoy feeding the lambs this springtime.

The farms mentioned also have other selected animal activities such as egg collecting, pony rides, rabbit petting, goat feeding and so on.

  • Find the lambs at Fentrigan Manor Farm in Cornwall from mid-March until the end of May, and get a 10% discount during this time. Prices for a week in a two-bed cottage start at £300.
  • North Bradbury Farm in Devon will be lambing from March 8 for about four weeks. Cottages are available during March and April from £425 per week. Book before April 1 and save 10%.
  • Bottle feeding the lambs is part of the daily routine at Clydey Cottages, Wales, as well as pony feeding and egg collecting. Arrange a stay during March and enjoy 20% discount off a two-bedroom property when quoting Child Friendly Cottages.
  • Children and adults alike are welcome to join the daily bottle feeding at Barnacre Cottages in Lancashire. The cost for a five-star two-bedroom cottage starts at just £395 per week.
  • Join Farmer Tim at Tredethick Farm Cottages in Cornwall as he completes his daily round of feeding the lambs, goats and chickens. Then head afterwards to their new indoor soft play barn where parents can relax on the sofas with a coffee and the daily newspaper while the children play.
  • Torridge House Cottages in Devon will have lamb-feeding from the end of March. Choose from a selection of properties such as Hay Cottage that sleeps 4, available for a week’s stay from 17 April for £342.

Best Kids Attractions In Cornwall
Cornwall is one of the UK’s most popular regions for holidays – especially family holidays. It is fortunate to have some of the UK’s most beautiful beaches, as good for building sandcastles as they are for surfing. The north of Cornwall has the best beaches, particularly Newquay and St. Ives, however there are some lovely beaches to be found on the south coast too.
