Weymouth, Dorset Weymouth is a very popular holiday destination as it offers a beautiful coast and beaches as well as lakes, museums and an aquarium. There are over two hundred events held throughout the year including firework festivals, dragon boat racing, beach volleyball, handball, motocross, and the annual carnival in mid-August.
This charming traditional stone cottage at the heart of the original fishing village close to harbour and marina has a large paved garden, ideal for evening barbeques! From here you can explore the seaside town of Weymouth, the dramatic Portland peninsula, World Heritage Coast and Dorset countryside.
Winkleigh, Devon This farm, includes a private but nationally-recognised nature reserve. home to scarce animals and plants including barn owls, dormice and orchids, as well as swallows, deer, foxes, badgers, occasional otters, and many hedgerow birds.
There are three peaceful wooden lodges here, set in a wildflower meadow where owls hunt at dusk. For families there are free bikes, and the cottage is located at the end of a long private drive with no public paths crossing the land, so kids can roam.
Omagh, Northern Ireland
This is a remote, peaceful, small family friendly self catering hostel nestling at the edge of the Sperrin mountains, where you can breathe fresh air, wander green valleys, cycle on deserted roads and eat organic vegetables and fruit in season. Nearby you can go orienteering, canoeing and fishing.
For families the farm offers the freedom to roam, help to feed the pigs, come and pick vegetables, climb in the old tree and to play with the hostel dogs Bonzo and Ike or pet the cat Tigger!
