Adopt A Mother
Women in India are 80 times more likely to die of a maternity related cause than British women. Mother's Day is the perfect opportunity to make some changes. The Child In Need Institute (CINI) is urging people to take action and celebrate mothers world-wide, by Adopting A Mother in their own mother's name for Mother's Day. The charity's Adopt a Mother programme provides support and advice to pregnant women in India in their villages, to help them improve and protect their own health and that of their families. A special Mother's Day card will be sent in response to donations, explaining how this support will make a difference to the lives of dozens of mothers-to-be from poor families in India.
