If, like me, you have a child whose skin is sensitive (or if you have sensitive skin yourself) you will know that the type of clothing worn can make a big difference to how comfortable their skin is. Skin sensitivity could be because you child has eczema, psoriasis or is prone to allergies.
My elder son was diagnosed with eczema at only a few months old. He was prone to severe nappy rash and had angry red sore wrists, elbows and back.
Man-made fibres have always made him sore and itchy, which cause him pain, discomfort and in hot weather, sleepless nights. However when I put him in natural fibres, his skin is cooler and was much less miserable and itchy.
Fortunately there are lots of specialist eczema clothing which is 100% cotton or made from other natural fibres such as silk, bamboo and linen. These are fantastic and brilliant for sleepwear, underwear, bedding and can help with specialist school uniform.
One really important piece of advice from my personal experience of buying clothing for a child with eczema; I would recommend is that you always check individual item descriptions of products from any of these retailers to check the fibre content.
Some of these online retailers offer only some of their range in 100% cotton, while also selling items that could have mixed fibres. Also while we have highlighted where these sellers use organic cotton, we would still advise checking individual items.

Natural Collection are specialists in Fairtrade and organic clothing for babies and children much of which is 100% cotton or 100% bamboo which is also very good for sensitive skin.

If you love Boden's instantly recognisable adult clothing range, you will be delighted to learn that their children's range have some items which are 100% cotton, but I recommend checking individual items as fibre content varies. Most likely to be cotton are T-shirts, sweatshirts and tops.
Ethical Superstore is another fairtrade and organic specialist, who stock cotton clothing from all the top ethical brands including Pachamama, Little Green Radicals, Traidcraft, Living Crafts and Frugi. Mostly for babies and younger children.
Panda are a speciallist in soft bamboo home textiles which many people with skin issues find preferable to cotton.
With bedding and bamboo duvets from baby cot sized to super king-size and everything in between for kids and adults. The baby range also includes bamboo muslins, towels and pillows.
People Tree was one of the the pioneers of Fair Trade and sustainable fashion with women's and men's clothes that teens will love. They have a mix of classic basics and fashion items.
Not all items are 100% cotton, so I do recommend that you check individual item descriptions.
White Stuff have a range of 100% Organic Cotton clothing and many of their children's clothing is 100% cotton too, with lovely clothing for boys and girls.
Greenfibres 100% cotton clothes in classic styles as well as fun designs for kids and fashionable styles for adults. They stock items in silk, linen and hemp as well as organic wool.
They are particularly good for underwear and they even have a cotton and bamboo bra, in A-C cups.
Esprit bring a bit of European flair to your wardrobe with many items in both the children's and adult ranges made from 100% organic cotton. Check descriptions to confirm which items are cotton.
Amazon 100% cotton products for kids and adults of all ages from a huge variety of retailers. Always check individual product descriptions to confirm cotton content. Their selection is best for ladies and mens 100% cotton underwear, and T-shirts.
Cotton Comfort make eczema-friendly clothes for men, women, babies and children, including underwear, gloves, toys, sleepwear, school uniform and bedding.
Dermasilk have 100% Silk clothing for babies, children and adults with eczema, including pyjamas, bodysuits, underwear gloves and hats. The DermaSilk® range uses a medical grade silk to create a breathable, 'second skin' fabric with an antimicrobial shield.
