Amazing Amanda

She's a crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living doll! Amazing Amanda: the world’s most technologically advanced and lifelike talking doll from Vivid Imaginations is already being tipped to be the hottest toy for Christmas 2005 according to leading toy stores Woolworths and Hamleys.

From the makers of Bratz, this is the first ever interactive large doll that utilizes voice recognition, sensory technology and articulated animatronics, Amazing Amanda arrived in the UK this summer.

Girls can experience the closest thing to a real toddler with Amanda who can show a whole range of human emotions including laughing and crying and she even recognises her own ‘mother’s’ – or presumably father’s - voice! Amanda can talk, respond to questions and loves to play games and sing songs! Interacting with her food, potty and hair accessories, Amanda knows when she is being fed, having her hair brushed and through incredibly realistic animatronics, shows her feelings in her facial movements and voice responses.

It has been described as spookily life-like - her behaviour is defined by the time of day and time of year. She has her own juice sipper cup, sandwich and cookie, hair and potty accessories and separate, co-ordinating outfit.

Speculators are apparently already buying up early stocks hoping to make a quick buck by selling the dolls on eBay-type auction sites when stocks run low close to Christmas. If your child wants one of these from Santa Claus this year, better not leave it too late.
