How Tall Will My Child Be?

Would you like an idea of how tall your child will be when they grown up? This calcuator will give you an estimate of your child's adult height. Remember that like most things in nature this will only be approximate! It is only valid where the parents are of normal height.

The calculator uses the formula given in your child's 'Red Book' to estimate their adult height. We've included a converter for you old-fashioned types like me who aren't sure of your height in metres.

Budgeting For A New Baby
One of the many changes that a new baby makes to it's parents life is a financial one. The mother's maternity pay will undoubtedly be much lower that her usual salary, and if Mum reduces her working hours or gives up work completely the whole family will have to adjust their spending to accomodate this reduced income.

Should We Get A Playpen?
The playpen has gone in and out of fashion over the years; in the 1950’s and 1960’s it was a must have and most babies like myself probably had one. Mine was a rectangular wooden; however my memory is of looking into it from the outside, so suspect I am remembering my younger sister using it.

Misconceptions
Naomi Wolf has long been known as an incisive commentator on the modern life of women. Her bestselling book ‘The Beauty Myth’ demonstrated how the cultural ideal of beauty, expounded by all areas of the media, is used to control women. In ‘Misconceptions’ she uses her own experiences of pregnancy, childbirth and caring for a newborn to explore the way mothers are treated in modern society.
