Carnival Of Autumn Crafts

1st September 2009

As the days get cooler you may be itching to get creative. Here's our round-up of some of our favourite Autumn (Fall) crafts for you to try out.

First up we found these super easy Muffin Tin Crayons at Kaboose crafts. Made in gorgeous autumnal colours they sound real fun - basically you melt down all those crayons that are way too small to use and make new, usuable, fun chubby crayons. The comments point out that it's best not use your favourite muffin tin for this one!

A rather cool 3-D Pumpkin Patch can be found at Crayola kids. This would work for Harvest Festival as well as Halloween.

DLTK-Kids have this really cute Scarecrow Doorknob Hanger. The template is available on the site for you to print out then cut out and fit together. You can also print it out in black & white and colour it in yourself.

First School have instructions for a Oak Leaves & Acorn Turkey to make. As this site is primarily aimed at educators ther are useful suggestions as to making the activites appropriate for different age groups too.

Hedgehogs looking for some where to hibernate are a great Autumn theme and as kids always love to get messy with paint the next one is a surefire winner. There are instructions for seriously cute Hedgehog Hand Prints at Engage. You can also include fallen leaves with this picture too.

When the weather starts to get a bit colder, the birds welcome a little extra food, so here, from the RSPB, are instructions on how to make a birdfeeder using recycled materials such as drinks bottles and yoghurt pots.

If you can find a bunch of twigs on that Autumn walk in the woods you could also have a go at making a simple twig picture frame like this one at Enchanted Learning.

Finally, you can have a go at our Autumn Colouring Pictures or Autumn Printable Wordsearches.
