Sausage And Fennel Seed Stew

with Dolmio Taste of Sicily

This warming dish is perfect as the days head into Autumn and start to get cooler. Infact this would be a great dish for Bonfire Night - after all it does contain bangers!

Serves 3
 
Ingredients
1 jar of Dolmio Taste of Sicily sauce
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
6 Italian sausages
1 teaspoon of fennel seeds
½ long red chilli, deseeded and sliced
60ml vegetable, beef stock or water
3 slices of toasted rustic bread
Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling

Directions:-

  1. Brown the sausages in the olive oil in a large frying pan, then reduce the heat and cook them slowly for about 10 minutes, turning often.
  2. Add the fennel seeds and chilli when the sausages are almost done
  3. Pour in the jar of Dolmio Taste of Sicily sauce and the stock or water and cook for a further 5 minutes
  4. Serve with crusty toasted bread, drizzled with more extra-virgin olive oil
