As part of the Lurpak Spreadable Unsalted launch campaign we have been working with celebrity mum Gaynor Faye (Winner of ITV's Dancing on Ice) to develop the following simple, tasty recipes, which are ideal for busy mums to prepare for the family.
Recipe One
Fresh toasted crumpets, spread with Lurpak Spreadable Unsalted and topped with Wensleydale cheese.
Recipe Two
Oven-baked potato, thick chunk of Lurpak Spreadable Unsalted, left to melt then topped with dolphin friendly tuna fish mixed with free-range mayonnaise.
Recipe Three
Children's Sandwich
“When the kids are hungry I rustle up a quick sandwich with mild cheese, cucumber slices and marmite served on brown multi grain bread with a light spread of Lurpak Spreadable Unsalted. Cut these into triangles and serve with water, organic fruit juice and fruit for dessert. Delicious!”
Recipe Four
Indulgence (delicious!) Treat
You can use all organic options where possible, you can also use a vegetarian substitute for butter or use Lurpak twice! - This is a high calorie treat and should be enjoyed as such i.e. - not daily!
Yorkshire Rascals (rich, fruity scones made with citrus peel, almonds and cherries. Delicious with cream and jam)
Ingredients
- 3/4 lb. flour 2oz. Lurpak butter
- 3oz. Currants
- 1 heaped tsp.baking powder
- 2oz. of Lurpak unsalted spreadablebutter
- 1 teacup of cream - slightly soured
- 3oz. Sugar
Instructions
- Rub Lurpak butter into flour, add dry ingredients and mix with cream to a stiff paste.
- Roll out to 3/4 inch thick and cut into rounds.
- Bake in a quick oven on a floured baking sheet, for 10-15 mins - then allow to cool and add a layer of Lurpak Spreadable Unsalted and top off with jam and cream, serve with piping hot tea and enjoy!
