Welcome to Spell Fun!

Spell Fun is a spelling practice program for children 6 years old and above. Using visual and audio clues the child has to guess what the item on the screen is and then spell it's name correctly.

How to Play
First identify the picture. There may be a sound clue to help you. (A horse was easy but finding a sound for a carrot was a bit difficult!) There is also an indication of how many letters there are in the word.

Click on start to begin. You can type in the word straight away, but if you are stuck, pressing the help key will show the first letter of the word. Pressing it again will give the second letter and so on. The first letter is free, but be warned, after that, every letter revealed by help reduces your overall score by 5 to 10%. The maximum score reduction can be as much as 60%.

The Total score is given in both figures and a coloured bar. When 50 words are completed, a score of 85% and above will reveal Super Smiley......

There are 3 levels of difficulty in the program. There is also a Games menu built into Spell Fun. This menu includes two games. Noughts & Crosses (tic-tac-toe) and Puzzle Squares. The Games menu has a built in timer and will not reveal itself until Sum Fun has been running for a while - a reward for doing all that hard work!.

We suggest the following minimum system requirement for running Spell Fun. Pentium 233 or equivalent, 64 Mb Ram, graphics set to a minimum of 256 colours and a Sound Blaster compatible sound card.
