World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. Held every year in the first week in March, it is a carnival of books, literary activites and all sorts of book related fun.
In 2017 it will be held on Thursday 2nd March.
It’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and it is marked in over 100 countries all over the world.
For the 20th anniversary there are specially produced £1 books from top authors including Jacqueline Wilson, David Walliams, Enid Blyton, Julia Donaldson and Francesca Simon.
