Red House Children's
Book Awards 2008

The Red House Children’s Book Award is the children's book equivalent of the Oscars. The best children’s books of the last year are shortlisted and then voted for entirely by children.

Award-winning authors, including Michael Rosen and Andy Stanton, plus the short-listed authors will be at the Hay Festival on 30th may where this year’s winner will be announced. The shortlist is:-

Books for Older Readers 2008

Red House Books are also offering one child the chance to be at the Hay Festival for the awards ceremony. To enter, they must write a short story or poem in no more than 300 words, about why they would like to attend the awards. The closing date is 24th April 2008.
