    Website of Children's Laureate Anne Fine, with free book plates to download from the likes of Quentin Blake, Anita Jeram and Posy Simmonds
  • Cool Reads
    Book review site for 10-15 year olds, by two boys in the same age group. Add a review if you are in the right age group.
  • Carol Hurst's Children's Literature Site
    Children's books are reviewed and there is lots of information about using the books in the curriculum. The site is US based but would be relevent for any English-speaking country.
  • The Children's Literature Web Guide
    Excellent directory of internet resources for children's and teen's books.

Literacy

  • National Literacy Trust
    News and information on literacy education for all ages plus Reading RescueŽ, a literacy intervention for struggling readers.
  • Reading Is Fundamental
    US organisation that develops and runs children's and family literacy programs. Reading Planet section has lots of good tips and articles.
  • Jolly Phonics
    Jolly Phonics teaches the letter sounds in an enjoyable, multisensory way, and enables children to use them to read and write words.
  • Letterland
    System for teaching children to read, write and spell. It uses pictogram characters, set in a place called Letterland.
